The story behind Hellenbrand
Hellenbrand has manufactured water treatment equipment in Waunakee, Wisconsin since 1968, with a specialty in the problems that show up on rural wells rather than on municipal supply — iron, manganese, sulfur odor, and heavy hardness in combination.
The Iron Curtain line is what the company is known for: a whole-house oxidation and filtration system designed specifically for iron and hydrogen sulfide, the two contaminants that stain fixtures orange and put the rotten-egg smell in a well.

Magic Valley well water is exactly what Hellenbrand builds for. When a water test comes back with iron above about 1 ppm, a softener alone will foul its resin within a few years — the Iron Curtain in front of it is the fix that makes the whole train last.
Brass internals and heavy bypass valves also survive our water better than the plastic-bodied builder-grade equipment we're frequently called out to replace.
