InterFlo QuadPro SST

Traditional reverse osmosis systems produce water slowly and bank it in a pressurized bladder tank under your sink. The QuadPro SST skips the tank entirely. Its patented Superior SmartFlow dual-channel membrane produces purified water fast enough to serve the faucet on demand, so what you get is a steady stream instead of a tank's worth followed by a trickle — and you get the entire sink cabinet back for cleaning supplies.

Efficiency is the other headline. A conventional RO sends roughly three or four gallons to the drain for every gallon it purifies. The QuadPro inverts that ratio: three glasses of purified water for every one that goes down the drain. Over a year of normal household use that's thousands of gallons that never leave the house, which matters both on a municipal water bill and on a well with a pump you'd rather not cycle unnecessarily.

Scale is the enemy of any RO membrane, and Magic Valley water is loaded with the calcium and magnesium that create it. Standard membranes on local water often need replacing every 18 to 24 months. The QuadPro's dual-channel design continuously flushes the membrane surface, resisting scale buildup well enough that InterFlo rates it for up to four years of service life.

That single spec changes the ownership math. Instead of an annual membrane swap plus pre-filters, you change a 12-month carbon and sediment cartridge and touch the membrane once every four years. Both cartridges are keyed and self-calibrating: you twist the old one out, twist the new one in, and the system recalibrates itself — no wrench, no shutting off the water, no bleeding the line. An LED ring on the faucet tells you exactly where you stand at 100%, 5%, and 0% of filter life, so you're never guessing. The unit is certified to NSF/ANSI 58 by the Water Quality Association and carries their Gold Seal.

Installing the QuadPro is usually quicker than a tank system — about 90 minutes to two hours — because there's no bladder tank to position and pressurize. We tap the cold supply, set the drain connection, mount the compact unit against the cabinet wall or side panel, and install the LED faucet on the sink deck. It needs a nearby outlet for the low-voltage power supply.

After that, your only recurring task is a yearly cartridge twist, and we'll happily add it to a service schedule if you'd rather not track it. Because the whole assembly is small and front-serviceable, we can diagnose and repair it in place rather than pulling everything out from under the sink. This is the drinking-water system we install in our own homes. Pick it if you want the best-tasting water available, you're tired of the under-sink tank eating your storage space, you care about water waste, or you simply don't want to think about maintenance more than once a year.

It's not the cheapest way to improve drinking water, and it does need power at the cabinet — worth confirming before you order. If budget is the priority, the Nelsen Aqua Classic delivers traditional RO results for less. If you only want chlorine taste and odor gone and don't need a membrane at all, the InterFlo IF-14 is the simpler answer. On very hard water, whichever RO you choose, a whole-house softener upstream will extend its membrane life significantly.
